FilterMerger for PDW
Easy filter import
pager Download     filtermerger.zip

Current version: 1.00

Ever wanted to import a large block of addresses (RIC's, capcodes etc.) into PDW?

Three steps
Main window: main

Off line preparation
The idea is to create a file that holds the filter information to be merged with the following line format:
<address><separator><description>    (separator: one or more spaces)
E.g.: 0101204  Officer Johnson
0101210  Sergeant Lucas
0102998  Monitorcode Amsterdam
Any text editor can be used to create this file. Sort the lines to your wishes and save the file.

How to merge
After starting FilterMerger for PDW load filters.ini by navigating to the filter file or by entering path and file name in the edit box.
Hit return to load the filter file.

Next load the file to merge in the same way. The number of lines in the merge file will be shown.

Last step is selecting the format of the filter lines to insert:
A filter line not only holds address and description, but also information about colour, sound etc.
You have to select a filter format by right clicking a filter in the list.
The filters to add will all have this format. Only address and description will be taken from the merge file (of course).

(Optionally you may left click in the filter list to set the insertion point.)

Click the Insert button, wait, ready!!

After inserting is ready you can immediately see the resulting filters.ini and the new number of filters.
If you are satisfied you may save the list.

The old filters.ini will be backed up as filters.ini.$$$. So there is still a way back.

Note: Be sure PDW is not running when inserting filters. Otherwise all changes will be lost!!

Tune with PDW
When merging is ready exit the program and start PDW for the new filter list to take effect.
Please use the (Multiple) Edit function of PDW if you want to do some extra tuning.

Enjoy.
